BLITZ SERVICE - Szczecin

When does a vehicle require welding?

After diagnosing the car, we choose this repair technology in the following cases:

  • doors or other parts are broken, bent, or cracked;
  • you had an accident and the body was deformed;
  • a replacement part is rusty, but it can be repaired instead of buying a new one;
  • you overloaded the car, causing fatigue cracks in the parts.

Welding is also used to repair aluminum wheels, mufflers, radiators, pipes, and patching leaking underbodies.

The repair cost is estimated after inspecting the car at the service. The price will depend on the location of the damage, its complexity, the area of rusted parts, the size and number of holes, and the welding technology.

Straightening, painting, and other additional services are not included in the price. If needed, we will inform you after the main work is finished.

Welding methods for body repairs

If visual damage is found on a part that is not concerned with the appearance of the seam, our craftsmen use simple electrode welding. The prices for welding work with this method are low, but the seam is visible.

For repairing a metal part with a thickness of up to 0.5 cm, we use semi-automatic welding. This method is suitable for repairing rusted sills, restoring the shape of thin parts, patching holes, and rusted areas in the underbody.

If the repair of visible parts is necessary, our car service technicians use MMA TIG MIG MAG welding. The cost of welding work in this case is high, but the seam is barely noticeable.

Work stages

Our specialists proceed as follows:

  • Inspect the car, select and justify the repair method, and provide the price for body welding in the specific case.
  • Clean the paint layer, wash, and degrease the problematic area. If the unit or part requires welding, it should be removed and mounted on a stand.
  • Disconnect the car’s electrical system.
  • Perform the welding.
  • Clean the seam, grind it, and, if necessary, prepare it for painting.
